Help Feed My Starving Children and Families in Haiti

Feed my Starving Children along with Knights of Columbus council 12240, Assembly 0157 and many other local councils and Assemblies are organizing a mobile packing project. The goal is to pack 270,000 meals for relief in Haiti. Living water Ministries of the Palm Beaches will distribute the meals in Haiti through their already existing infrastructure. To do this we will need as many volunteers as possible for 2 hour sessions per individual over multiple days. The tentitive date is Sept 16th through the 19th.

The 6 cent per meal is Living Water Ministries of the Palm Beaches cost to get it to Haiti and distribute it.

The facility will be announced when we get closer to the date. Entertainment and food will be available and all proceeds will beifit the project. This is a large undertaking and will require the cooperation from many organizations. We need to raise approximately $51,500 dollars to do this. It's Amazing What 6 Cents Will Buy!

Most people today would agree that 6 cents won't buy much of anything...

We at Living Water Ministries respectfully disagree.

Living Water Ministries in conjunction with Feed My Starving Children have 270,000 meals ready to ship to 4,000 starving children in Haiti. The food has already been paid for, all we need are the funds to ship and distribute the food.

The amazing thing is... how little it takes to impact so many! Just 6 cents, (the pennies you find in your couch, the change from a dollar bill, the nickel and penny you found in the street) can provide a complete nourishing meal for a hungry child.

And only $21.90, the price of two movie tickets and a soft drink, will provide food for a child for entire year!!!! Anyone with any size budget (or child's allowance) can make a huge difference in the lives of the children in Haiti!

It's a well known fact that children in Haiti survive on meager amounts of food. Their small bodies continuously deplete any reserve of nutrients that God gave them when they were born. This results in the inability to develop strong bones, normal growth of internal organs, growth of head hair, resistance to common disease and illness. It also lessens their ability to concentrate and learn in school.

Many children are so hungry that they fill their little stomachs by eating dirt. Their little stomachs are distended from malnutrition and they suffer from worms and other parasites. Their growth is often stunted, lagging behind what is normal for their age.  Newborn babies are listless, sleep too much and never cry; they don't. have the energy.

It has been the desire of Living Water Ministries to be able to feed those starving children in the Northwest villages of Haiti. The children in this area are the most in need and the highest risk to die from starvation. Until recently the costs of such a program made this desire out of reach.

Through the grace of God, children will now receive life giving food everyday. Feed My Starving Children , a Christian non-profit organization based in Minnesota, approached Living Water Ministries to partner with them in getting food to Haiti's hungry children. Feed My Starving Children packages dehydrated meals that are distributed to third world countries through partnerships with global distribution non-profit organizations. Because of Living Water Ministries twenty-year, "on the ground" track record of helping those most in need in Haiti, they were selected for this most important task.

Here's how it works: Feed My Starving Children covers the cost to produce and package the meals. Living Water Ministries is responsible for shipping, distribution and administrative costs. It will take $5,500 per month to feed 4,000 hungry children every day. One shipping container holds 270,000+ meals and will arrive in Haiti every 90 days.
